What Is CPRM/CPPM?
Introduction of CPRM/CPPM
Content Protection for Recordable Media (CPRM) and Content Protection for Pre-Recorded Media (CPPM) are 2 forms of DRM mechanism developed by the 4C Entity (an organization formed by IBM, Intel, Matsushita and Toshiba) for controlling the copying, moving and deletion of digital media on a host device like a personal computer, or other digital player. They share lots in common so usually known as CPRM/CPPM.
Where Is CPRM/CPPM Used?
The CPRM/CPPM aims to protect entertainment content when recorded on physical media and is used on recordable DVD media, flash memory (widely deployed in SD cards), and so on.
CPRM/CPPM Protected Content Access
The access of CPRM/CPPM protected digital media content requires a license from the 4C Entity. The license includes an imitation key for the content which uses CPRM/CPPM technology.
Passkey CPRM/CPPM Solution
Passkey can remove all CPRM and CPPM protections on DVD to let you use other tools to copy, burn, clone, convert, or do whatever you want to your DVD movies.
